MEDIA ALERT, Support Available for Residents Impacted by the Flood HERE
Red Cross will be providing support for people who are in need, who have been evacuated and need accommodations up to the first 72 hours. Individuals in need of support from Red Cross are asked to call 1-866-637-4263.
For safety purposes, the Town recommends all residents continue to monitor weather conditions and check for updated messages. People should exercise extreme caution around fast moving water. Residents should take appropriate precautions to protect their property and provide for their own safety.
Residents are welcome to go to 33 Blimkie Street in Chalk River or 240 Bass Lake Road in Point Alexander to fill sandbags to be utilized for prevention and protection of your property. Use of these facilities is at your own risk.

HYDRO ONE crews continue to conduct emergency disconnections in areas affected by flooding, as directed by regional authorities. Customers are urged to call 1-800-434-1235 if water rises above their electrical outlets, baseboard heaters or furnace to have power disconnected to their home. To help alleviate hardship during this time, Hydro will waive the delivery charges while customers are disconnected along with any Hydro One connection fees. Hydro One has cancelled all planned outages in regions where customers are affected by flooding.

Lending Hub - The Town currently has the following summer / winter equipment available to lend out to our residents: - Snowshoes and Golf Clubs - Assortment of sizes (children to adult) - Nordic walking poles, pickle ball sets, water mat, kayaks, paddleboards and life jackets. To sign for the equipment you must be 18 years of age and provide proof of ID. The equipment and lending forms are located at the Municipal office 34465 Highway 17 Monday to Friday from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm.
Memorial Tree Program - The Memorial tree program provides residents with the opportunity to honor loved ones, families or groups by having a tree with a memorial plaque installed on municipal property. Taxes - Your INTERIM bill is mailed out at the end of January. The first installment is due the third week in February and the second installment is due the third week of May.
Your FINAL bill is mailed out at the end of July. The first installment is due the third week of August and the second installment is due the third week of October.
Property taxes are based on the assessment of your property. If you have questions regarding your property assessment, contact the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation at 1-866-296-6722.
How to Pay Taxes - Taxes can be paid online, by cheque, at Scotiabank, the Credit Union, by mail or by cash at the Town office. We also provide the option for monthly pre-authorized payment. Click here for a pre-authorized form

WaterTesting Bottles - Water Testing bottles are available at the Town office for residents with a well. We are the drop off location. Drop off your water samples between September to March is Tuesday and Wednesday only. April to August drop off is Monday through Thursday. Same day your water is taken it must be submitted the same day.
Fire Hydrant Maintenance - The Town conducts routine maintenance and flushing of fire hydrants during different times of the year. The Town will post hydrant flushing in the local paper, the North Renfrew Times. Questions or concerns can be directed to: 613-584-3114.
