Bray.ie welcomes back Dancing with the Stars

Bray.ie welcomes back the Dancing With The Stars Shinawil / RTÉ production teams, the class of 2019 and the weekly live audiences.

The 3rd season kicks off on Sunday, January 6th & it’s live from Ardmore Studios Film Factory in Bray on RTÉ One at 6:30pm.

The show is hosted by Jennifer Zamparelli and Nicky Byrne, with Bláthnaid Treacy presenting spin-off show Can’t Stop Dancing on Fridays on RTÉ One at 8:30pm.

Bray shortlisted in 4 categories in the All Ireland Community & Council Awards 2019

Bray.ie, one of the towns biggest tourism initiatives – the Bray Air Display, Summer in Bray campaign and the multi-agency emergency response to the gorse fire on Bray Head have all been shortlisted in the All Ireland Community & Council Awards 2019 which is presented by IPB Insurance and LAMA:

  1. Bray.ie for the ‘Best Connected Council’Communications and Digital Marketing category
  2. The Bray Air Display for the Best Tourism Initiative category
  3. Summer in Bray campaign for the Best Arts/Culture (incl. festivals & events) category
  4. Multi-agency emergency response to the gorse fire on Bray Head for the Emergency Response Person/Team of the Year category

The awards recognise and celebrate community and councils working together.

Speaking of the news, Cllr. Pat Vance, Cathaoirleach of Bray Municipal District said ‘We are delighted to be shortlisted again in the All Ireland Community & Council Awards for 2019. The nominations recognise the overall performance and the quality of our online engagement via bray.ie, our biggest tourism events – the Bray Air Display, our Summer In Bray campaign are seen as a significant contribution to Irish tourism and that the multi-agency emergency response to the gorse fire on Bray Head last summer is being honoured.”

Bray Town recognised at the Enterprise Town Awards

Bray was recognised as a runner-up at this year’s Bank of Ireland National Enterprise Town Awards 2018.

The National Enterprise Town awards, run by Bank of Ireland, which is in its third year aims to promote enterprise by bringing business and community groups together, in towns and villages across Ireland, to showcase the spirit of enterprise in their local area.

The very best of what Bray has to offer was showcased to a panel of judges who visited the town on Tuesday, 25th September 2018 at the Mermaid Arts Centre.

Representatives from the local authority, the business sector and community groups made an impressive presentation. Its theme highlighted how businesses and community groups are working together collaboratively with the Municipal District and State agencies to contribute to the overall enterprising nature of the town.

Bray Comedy Festival returns February 2019

For the 5th year in a row, next February, the very best comedians in Ireland and beyond with a sprinkling of some Hollywood stardust are gathering on the Braymalfi coast for the Bray Comedy Festival 2019.

The five-day fun fest kicks off on Wednesday 13th February with the Opening Gala (tux optional) featuring THE Karl Spain; Bray Comedy Festival debutante – Kevin McGahern; John Colleary (Savage Eye); impressionist Al Foran and Après Match’s Barry Murphy.

It’s a packed schedule. With more acts to be announced in the coming weeks.

Comedy fans might want to decamp to Bray for all five days of the 5th Bray Comedy Festival this February.
