The latest Cosmetic Tattooing techniques used by Caron at the Clinic is so precise that every hair can be replicated at microscopic level to construct natural looking eyebrows and more. So, if your eyebrows are naturally sparse, you have over-plucked them or you have suffered total loss through Alopecia or cancer, don’t despair!
Cosmetic Tattooing can also be applied as an eyeliner to enhance the lashes and give the appearance of larger, more appealing eyes. Lip enhancements can create an illusion of fullness and lift through the use of semi-permanent make-up.

Cosmetic Tattooing, commonly known as Semi Permanent Makeup, is a procedure which implants pigment into the skin. It is used for cosmetic procedures and medical procedures.
Using a specialist Micropigmentation machine, pigment is transferred into the skin, the same way ordinary permanent tattoo inks are. This procedure can create more definition to existing features, e.g. eyebrows and eyeliner, or creating and replacing missing features as a result from conditions such as alopecia or medical treatments like chemotherapy. Caron uses individual hair flicks to build up the eyebrow so that it will not look false, but perfectly natural. The procedure takes two treatments, your first and then a second 4-5 weeks later. This is because after the first treatment the tattooed area will lose 50% of the colour due to the pigment layering down into the skin. At the second appointment the procedure is carried out again, layering the pigment on top of what is already in the skin, leaving a visible layer, completing the treatment.
Q: How long does the treatment take
A:The treatment itself will take 2, 1 hour appointments, one month apart.
Q: Who will be doing my treatment?
A: Caron Vetter is our Micropigmentation Specialist and Clinic Director. She has been carrying out Micropigmentation procedures for over 20 years, trained in America, and now teaches the art of Micropigmentation in the medical field to hospitals in the UK and Ireland.
Q: What will I look like immediately after Cosmetic Tattooing?
A: The area that has been treated will be very dark immediately after treatment and will be for a few days.
Q: Are there any risks or side effects?
A: You are to do nothing to the treated area for 48 hours, including not getting the area wet. After that, the area will be dark, and it will ‘crust’ and go dry. Caron will supply you with Vaseline to apply to the area for a week or so after treatment to keep the area moist. You must not pick the area when it ‘crusts’ as this will pull the pigment out of the skin, leaving nothing behind. You will then lose 50% of the colour as the pigment is layering down in to your skin, in preparation for your second treatment.
Cosmetic Tattooing Tips
• Do not have the treatment around any special occasions or events, recommended 4-7 days prior to event.
• Expect the treated area to be darker than desired and dry for a few days after treatment.
• You will then lose 50% of the colour after the first treatment as the pigment is layering down in to your skin. This is the first step of the process, and the second appointment will complete the treatment.
