July in the garden.....

Now is an excellent time to plant trees and roses, check our updated lists for availability.  As most of the Roses are now in flower at the nursery, its a great time to see their colour, size and smell their fragrance...... beautiful!. To assist you in choosing one for your garden, we have handy books just inside our entrance, which give you more detail about each rose. If you are considering buying one for a gift, we offer a gift wrapping service.

Roses.....

Roses bring style and elegance to any garden, be it large or small. Thanks to the dedication of rose breeders there has never been such diversity from which we can select. Climbing and rambling roses to cover walls, fences, arches, arbors and even to grow many meters upwards to flower in the canopies of trees. Patio roses to grow in containers. Ground-cover roses to spread a carpet of low-level flowers. Floribunda and Hybrid-Teas for the traditional rose garden. Visually stunning, shrub roses are perfect for a mixed border. We can further enhance these groups with rich fragrance, repeat flowering, autumn foliage colour and beautiful winter fruits or hips.

Clematis.....

Clematis are varied, versatile and indispensable climbing plants that offer a wide range of colours and flower shapes from early spring until autumn. They can be used to cover large walls, grow up through other plants to compliment or extend their flowering time, or can be compact enough to grow in containers on a patio. Most are easy to grow, given a humus-rich, well-drained soil in sun or semi-shade with the roots and base of the plant in the shade.

  • Pick your courgettes.......before they become marrows!
  • Don't forget to regularly feed pots and hanging baskets.
  • Keep summer bedding plants looking godd by regular dead-heading and watering along with a high potash feed like Vitax.
